Pharebo

My little niece is three years old and absolutely fascinated by anything she can switch, punch, or turn. No oven is safe—though I guess all kids are the same in that respect.

So, I saw a great opportunity to build something for her to play with. I scoured thrift shops and flea markets for buttons and switches, got a few donations from neighbors, and found an amazing wooden box in the attic.

After two weeks of sawing, gluing, and painting, Pharebo was born. It stands for PHAntasie-REise-BOx, which translates to Phantasy-Travel-Box. I attached a screen to the box with magnets—so it can be removed for easy storage—where you can attach various scenarios, from flying with geese to diving into the ocean.

The night lights are one of my favorite features. I hope she enjoys playing with it for many years. I admit I’m the tiniest bit jealous.
